GDPR . . . WHAT?

Notepad by Garance Doré.
Did you prepare for the GDPR requirements?

Starting May 25, 2018, organizations that process personal data in the context of their European operations, offer goods or services to the EU, or track the behavior of individuals located in EU must comply with the new law. Updating their vendor agreements to comply with the GDPR is one of the changes that organizations must make.
The aim of the GDPR is to protect all EU citizens from privacy and data breaches in an increasingly data-driven world that is vastly different from the time in which the 1995 directive was established. Although the key principles of data privacy still hold true to the previous directive, many changes have been proposed to the regulatory policies; the key points of the GDPR as well as information on the impacts it will have on business can be found at https://www.eugdpr.org/the-regulation.html

Some requirements:

  • GDPR Compliant Privacy Policy + Terms of Service page on your website
  • GDPR Compliant opt-in forms for people who can be added to your email list on your  website.
  • Go through and segment/email, those who are already on our list who live in the EU
  • Cookies pop-up notification on your website.

Think this doesn't apply to you?

This applies to any business that; sells to the European Union, or
markets to people in the EU. This includes if your business accepts their currency if they buy from your company orif the website is available for anyone in these countries to view.
